Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teaching Credential authorized for mild/moderate or moderate/severe disabilities
  • Experience designing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Background in middle school education and working with students with moderate to severe needs preferred
  • Strong skills in classroom management and adaptive curriculum development
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
  • Passion for fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom community

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in a self-contained SDC, addressing diverse academic and behavioral needs
  • Develop and implement individualized lesson plans aligned with IEP goals
  • Conduct assessments and track student progress toward measurable objectives
  • Collaborate with paraeducators, related service providers, families, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Cultivate a positive, engaging learning environment that encourages participation and growth
  • Adapt instructional materials and techniques to ensure accessibility for all students
  • Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and ongoing staff collaboration
