Grades 9 - 12 K-5 Special Education Teacher - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Previous experience teaching students with diverse learning needs, preferably in K-12 settings
• Strong knowledge of IEP development, instructional modifications, and progress monitoring
• Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
• Collaborative mindset, able to work closely with general educators, support staff, and families

Role Responsibilities:

• Design and implement individualized lesson plans targeting each student’s unique needs
• Administer and manage IEPs, accommodating learning and behavioral challenges within the classroom setting
• Regularly assess student progress and adjust strategies to optimize outcomes
• Collaborate with teaching teams, counselors, and service providers to ensure cohesive support for all students
• Foster an inclusive, welcoming classroom climate that encourages student participation and growth
