The positions are tailored to two groups: K-1st grade and 3rd-5th grade—the ideal setting for compassionate, skilled educators eager to make a difference.
Your expertise will be pivotal for students, many of whom are non-verbal, on the autism spectrum, or require specialized assistance, including toileting support. Collaboration with other dedicated professionals such as Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) will be part of your daily routine, ensuring comprehensive support for every student.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current certification in Special Education (or eligibility)
- Proven experience in substantially separate classroom settings
- Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) skills
- Background implementing specially designed instruction
- Comfortable supporting children with severe cognitive and physical disabilities
- Experience assisting with toileting and hygiene support
- Compassionate approach and strong communication/interpersonal skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored special education instruction to K-1 or 3-5 classrooms with severe and multiple disabilities
- Collaborate with behavior technicians, therapists, and fellow educators to implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Utilize ABA techniques and specially designed instruction
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment for every student
- Manage classroom routines, safety, and daily hygiene/toileting needs
