Make an immediate impact supporting students with special needs across multiple grade levels in a dynamic educational setting near Plain Dealing, LA. This onsite, contract opportunity seeks dedicated professionals to work with students in moderate classrooms, many of whom are on the autism spectrum. Available roles include kindergarten/first grade and middle school teaching positions. If you are passionate about fostering inclusive learning environments and hold a current Louisiana Special Education certification—or a valid Louisiana teaching certificate with a willingness to pursue SPED certification—your expertise is needed.

Qualifications:

  • Current Louisiana Special Education (SPED) certification, OR
  • Valid Louisiana teaching license with commitment to obtain SPED certification
  • Experience working with children in special education settings, particularly with students with autism (preferred)
  • Familiarity with differentiated instruction and individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement tailored lesson plans to meet individual students’ needs
  • Create a supportive, structured environment for students with moderate disabilities
  • Actively participate in IEP meetings and document student progress
  • Collaborate with general education staff and related service providers
  • Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and classroom management techniques
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
