Special Education Teacher - Plainfield, IL

Step confidently into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting a dedicated group of students in a special education instructional classroom. This full-time position serves grades 3rd-4th with a manageable caseload of just five students, offering the chance to make a focused impact throughout the entire school year. You’ll work 37.5 hours per week, with your schedule running weekdays from 8:40AM to 3:25PM. The assignment begins August 26, 2026, and concludes June 3, 2027.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher licensure and certification in Illinois.
• Prior school-based experience in a similar setting.
• A passion for nurturing student growth and adapting instruction to individual needs.
• Strong organizational and communication skills for effective collaboration with staff and families.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, individualized instruction aligned with IEP goals in a supportive classroom environment.
• Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere for a group of five students in grades 3rd-4th.
• Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and families to develop and implement student-centered plans.
• Track academic and social progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings.
