Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity for the 2026–2027 school year as an LBS1 Special Education Teacher supporting middle school students. This position is designed for an educator passionate about fostering academic and personal success for students with disabilities. You’ll play a vital role in delivering individualized instruction, adapting curriculum, and serving as a key member of a collaborative team dedicated to inclusive learning environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and plans tailored to student abilities
  • Deliver differentiated instruction to address a range of learning needs
  • Monitor progress, gather data, and complete all necessary assessments
  • Employ effective classroom management and promote positive behaviors
  • Actively participate in IEP meetings and maintain open communication with families
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related-service providers, therapists, and support staff
  • Guide and supervise paraprofessionals to maximize student support

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current Illinois Professional Educator License
  • LBS1 endorsement (preferably for grades K–12)
  • Prior experience assisting students with disabilities is highly valued
  • Strong skills in communication, organization, and classroom management
