Key Qualifications:

  • Valid LBS1 Professional Educator License (PEL) required
  • Experience working in special education or with diverse learning needs, ideally at the junior high level
  • Strong background in science instruction and familiarity with co-teaching frameworks
  • Effective communicator, able to collaborate with general education staff, students, and support personnel
  • Adaptable, creative, and patient approach to differentiated instruction
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful learning environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Co-teach 7th and 8th grade Science classes alongside a general education teacher
  • Provide individualized and small group support to students with special needs
  • Collaborate in lesson planning, progress monitoring, and accommodations
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal development and implementation
  • Foster a positive, supportive classroom culture that encourages growth
  • Communicate consistently with parents, staff, and administration to ensure student success
