At the elementary level, you will support a self-contained program specifically tailored for students with Autism and functional communication needs. Structure, consistency, and individualized instruction play a key role in helping these students achieve daily and long-term goals. At the middle school, you’ll collaborate as a co-teacher in a supported education setting, nurturing academic progress within an inclusive classroom. Both positions offer a manageable caseload, ensuring you have the time and resources to focus on quality engagement and instruction.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience teaching or supporting students with Autism or functional communication needs is highly valued
- Strong understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Patience, empathy, and adaptability in diverse classroom settings
- Effective collaboration and communication skills with general education teachers, specialists, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans aligned with IEP goals
- Foster a positive, supportive, and structured learning environment in both self-contained and inclusive settings
- Collaborate with teaching teams to ensure holistic support for every student
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
- Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings
This is a full-time contract position with a caseload of up to 13 students, offering the chance to focus on relationship-building and individualized success.
