As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a key part in fostering a positive, inclusive environment for students, collaborating with a dedicated team of professionals. This opportunity runs from ASAP through the end of the school year, with consistent hours from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification for grades K-3
- Demonstrated experience working with children with autism, preferably in a school or clinical setting
- In-depth understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with staff, students, and families
- Creative, patient, and adaptable approach to meeting individual student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to K-3 students in an autism classroom, adapting curriculum to support diverse learning styles and needs
- Develop, implement, and track individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Employ evidence-based strategies to promote positive behavior and academic growth
- Collaborate with classroom aides, therapists, and related service providers
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation on student progress and communication logs
- Cultivate a safe, supportive classroom where every child can reach their potential
