Special Education Teacher | Plano, Texas

This full-time role (37.5 hours per week) is on-site at one elementary campus and runs through the school year, offering a focused and enriching teaching experience within a supportive environment.

You’ll have the chance to engage with students in a specialized setting, supporting either a life skills, autism, or behavior classroom based on your strengths and interests. Positions are available in a self-contained TLC/Total Language Classroom (small group rotation) or in a dedicated Life Skills program.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• Valid Texas Special Education (EC-12) certification required
• Recent fingerprint clearance through TEA (or willingness to complete upon hire)
• Experience working with elementary-age students in special education settings is highly preferred
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and classroom management skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
• Provide direct instruction in life skills, language, or behavioral support classrooms
• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff
• Monitor and document each student’s progress toward IEP goals
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom culture
• Communicate effectively with families regarding student growth and challenges
