Special Education Teacher

Key Qualifications:

• Valid state teaching license with appropriate Special Education certification
• Experience working with K-5 students in a special education or ASD setting preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
• Ability to provide individualized instruction and adapt curriculum to meet diverse learning needs
• Patience, compassion, and strong communication and collaboration skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction in a self-contained K-5 ASD classroom
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), monitoring student progress and making adjustments as needed
• Adapt curriculum, lessons, and instructional strategies to support individual student needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, aides, and support staff
• Maintain accurate student records and documentation
• Communicate with families regarding student progress, goals, and strategies for success
• Create a structured, supportive, and engaging classroom environment
