Step into an impactful opportunity this summer as a Special Education Teacher supporting an Extended School Year (ESY) program. Two positions are available, providing the chance to work closely with high school students in a supportive and collaborative educational environment. This contract position is designed with flexibility in mind: work Monday through Thursday for just four hours each day (8:00am–12:00pm), making a meaningful difference while maintaining work-life balance. These are in-person roles focusing exclusively on a high school caseload.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Hold a valid Maine teaching license in Special Education
• Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, especially with high school students, preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP processes and differentiated instruction
• Ability to develop creative, individualized learning strategies
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs during the ESY program
• Implement and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Assess student progress and adapt instruction as needed
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation
• Collaborate with related service providers, staff, and families to create a positive learning atmosphere
