Step into a rewarding contract position for an experienced Special Education Teacher, supporting PreK through 5th grade students in a collaborative school environment. This full-time role begins as soon as possible and extends through May 26, 2027, providing meaningful engagement with a manageable caseload of 16 students. The schedule runs Monday through Thursday, giving you a focused and balanced workweek.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching Certification
- Experience teaching in inclusive and pull-out settings
- Familiarity with PreK–5th grade curriculum and instructional strategies
- Strong classroom management skills with ability to differentiate instruction
- Proven record of developing and implementing IEPs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff and families
- Passion for fostering student growth and advocating for diverse learning needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and indirect instruction to students with varying exceptionalities in an inclusion and pull-out model
- Design and implement lesson plans individualized for student needs
- Develop, update, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly
- Work closely with general education staff, related service providers, and families
- Maintain clear documentation and comply with all state and federal special education requirements
- Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom climate
