Special Ed Teacher | Port Orchard, Washington

Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity working with grades 9-11 students as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year, located near Port Orchard, WA. You’ll be guiding a classroom of 25 students, developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), and collaborating closely with fellow educators and staff to foster an inclusive and supportive environment.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification/licensure (or eligibility) for the state of Washington
• Experience working with students in grades 9-11 or similar age groups
• Strong knowledge of best practices in special education, including IEP development and progress monitoring
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere for all students

Responsibilities:

• Create, review, and update IEPs tailored to each student’s unique needs
• Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction in small group and individualized settings
• Assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies as needed
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
• Maintain thorough documentation and comply with all special education laws and guidelines
