Soliant is seeking a passionate Special Education Teacher to join a supportive school district in Lewiston, Maine for the 2026–2027 school year. This full-time opportunity is ideal for educators with experience in a resource classroom setting, providing individualized instruction and academic support to students with diverse learning needs.
Assignment Details
- Full-time position (35–40 hours per week)
- 2026–2027 school year
- Resource classroom assignment
- Caseload of approximately 15–20 students
- Open to traveling Special Education Teachers
Required Qualifications
- Active Maine Special Education (282) Teaching License
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs
- Strong classroom management and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a resource classroom
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction and evidence-based interventions
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction in a resource classroom setting
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals
- Track student progress and maintain required documentation
- Collaborate with school staff, therapists, and families
- Participate in IEP meetings and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
- Foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
