Soliant is seeking a passionate Special Education Teacher to join a supportive school district in Lewiston, Maine for the 2026–2027 school year. This full-time opportunity is ideal for educators with experience in a resource classroom setting, providing individualized instruction and academic support to students with diverse learning needs.

Assignment Details

• Full-time position (35–40 hours per week)
• 2026–2027 school year
• Resource classroom assignment
• Caseload of approximately 15–20 students
• Open to traveling Special Education Teachers

Required Qualifications

• Active Maine Special Education (282) Teaching License
• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs
• Strong classroom management and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a resource classroom
• Knowledge of differentiated instruction and evidence-based interventions
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction in a resource classroom setting
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals
• Track student progress and maintain required documentation
• Collaborate with school staff, therapists, and families
• Participate in IEP meetings and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
• Foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
