A rewarding opportunity awaits an experienced Special Education Teacher eager to support 5th grade students in their academic growth. This full-time contract role involves working closely with a diverse range of learners, providing both co-taught/push-in instruction and resource services. As a vital part of the educational team, you will manage a caseload of 9 students, delivering specialized support to a total of 15–17 students in reading and/or writing.
Key Qualifications:
- Current license and certification to teach Special Education in Rhode Island
- Willingness to obtain a National BCI
- Commitment to inclusive and differentiated instruction
- Strong collaboration skills for working with general education staff
- Experience providing both resource and co-taught/push-in services preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction to 5th grade students during resource and co-taught periods
- Help students achieve IEP goals in reading and writing
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies for diverse learners
- Collaborate with general education teachers to create inclusive learning environments
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress
- Communicate regularly with families and multidisciplinary team members
