This opportunity is for a dedicated 5th grade Special Education Teacher ready to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic school setting. The position offers a mix of resource and co-teaching or push-in services, supporting a caseload of 9 students directly, while providing reading and writing services to 15-17 students. This full-time role runs Monday through Friday, from 7:45 AM to 2:45 PM, beginning as soon as possible and continuing through the end of the school year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction and support for 5th grade students with diverse learning needs.
  • Provide one resource period and co-teach or push-in during three to four periods daily.
  • Manage and maintain a caseload of students requiring individualized attention.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to enhance inclusive classroom experiences.
  • Monitor student progress and adapt strategies to achieve educational goals.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Rhode Island teaching license and special education certification.
  • Willingness to obtain a National Background Check and Investigation (BCI).
  • Experience in special education instruction, particularly in reading and writing interventions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with educators and families.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
