Special Ed Teacher | Pottstown, Pennsylvania

Special education teaching opportunities are currently available for the high school level (grades 9-12) in an inclusion and resource setting. These positions focus primarily on supporting students with multiple disabilities, with an emphasis on learning disabilities. The assignments are contract-based and located in Pottstown, PA, with immediate start dates available through the end of the school year.

Qualified candidates must hold a valid Pennsylvania 9-12 Special Education certification. Emergency certifications are not accepted for these roles. The ideal educators will demonstrate strong skills in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) as well as experience working collaboratively within an inclusive classroom environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instructional support tailored to students with diverse learning needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure effective inclusion strategies
• Develop, review, and update IEPs according to state regulations and student progress
• Utilize various teaching methods and materials to meet individual student goals
• Monitor and document student performance and behavioral progress

Qualifications:

• PA 9-12 Special Education certification (required)
• Experience teaching multiple disabilities, particularly learning disabilities, at the high school level
• Ability to work in both inclusion and resource room settings
• Strong understanding of special education laws, best practices, and IEP development
• Effective communication and collaboration skills

Interview process: Qualified applicants will first receive a screening phone call from the program director. Candidates recommended to move forward will be assigned an IEP-related task to assess practical knowledge. Job offers will follow successful task completion.
