Key Qualifications:
- NY State Special Education Teacher certification appropriate for assigned grade level
- Master’s degree in education required
- Strong commitment to individualized instruction and student advocacy
- Ability to create and adapt instructional materials for varying skill levels
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
- Experience with IEP development and progress monitoring is highly valued
Responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Delivering direct instruction in accordance with students’ unique learning profiles
- Collaborating with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to foster an inclusive, supportive classroom climate
- Engaging in ongoing progress assessment and communication with families and school personnel
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines
