This role focuses on delivering high-quality special education instruction at the early childhood, elementary, middle, and high school levels, with full-time hours totaling 35 per week. The assignment begins after completion of background checks and runs through June 26, 2026, with a summer program available for an additional six weeks.

You’ll have the chance to make a significant impact while working with small class sizes—from six to twelve students per class—supported by a cohesive team. Classrooms include students at different developmental levels, both verbal and non-verbal, including those with behavioral needs. Onsite staff are fully trained in behavior management techniques.
Qualifications:
- Valid NY State Special Education Teaching Certification in the relevant grade levels
- Master’s degree in Education
- Experience teaching early childhood, elementary, middle, or high school special education preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Comfortable working with both verbal and non-verbal students, including those with behavioral challenges
- Ability to collaborate effectively with support staff and other professionals
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Adapt curriculum materials to meet students’ varied needs
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
- Work closely with paraprofessionals and additional classroom staff
- Monitor student progress and communicate with families and colleagues
