Step into a meaningful role supporting the growth and success of exceptional learners as a Special Education Teacher. This contract position is based near Prescott, AZ, with openings for both full-time and part-time professionals for onsite services. Two positions are available, starting January 5 and continuing through the end of the school year, with the potential to extend through late May.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education (Arizona credentials preferred)
- Experience with students identified with SLD (Specific Learning Disability), OHI (Other Health Impairment), and Autism eligibility
- Ability to manage diverse caseloads and adapt to varying student needs
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with support staff, administration, and families
- Competency in developing and implementing IEPs, progress monitoring, and classroom behavior management
Position Details:
- One role serves 27 resource students in grades 4-8 with SLD and OHI eligibility
- The other supports a self-contained classroom for 7 students in grades 4-6 with SLD, OHI, and Autism eligibility
- Full-time schedules (35-40 hours/week), with part-time options considered
- Onsite services primarily at the Florentine campus, with the backing of a lead teacher and remote support via Zoom
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Write progress notes and communicate student growth to families and support teams
- Manage classroom behaviors and provide differentiated instruction
- Collaborate with staff for cohesive educational strategies
