Special Education Teacher - Prescott Valley, AZ

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid certification in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain)
• At least one year of classroom or resource teaching experience, preferably at the high school level
• In-depth knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to adapt lesson plans and teaching approaches to meet individualized student goals
• Organizational skills for tracking student data, reporting progress, and complying with all legal requirements

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver differentiated instruction and interventions to high school students with varying abilities and disabilities
• Develop, revise, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with staff and families
• Build positive, supportive relationships with students to encourage participation and achievement
• Work closely with general education teachers to support classroom modifications and accommodations
• Maintain effective communication with families and team members regarding student progress and needs
• Document and report student progress, and contribute to IEP meetings and annual reviews
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom atmosphere
