Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid certification in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain)
- At least one year of classroom or resource teaching experience, preferably at the high school level
- In-depth knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to adapt lesson plans and teaching approaches to meet individualized student goals
- Organizational skills for tracking student data, reporting progress, and complying with all legal requirements
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver differentiated instruction and interventions to high school students with varying abilities and disabilities
- Develop, revise, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with staff and families
- Build positive, supportive relationships with students to encourage participation and achievement
- Work closely with general education teachers to support classroom modifications and accommodations
- Maintain effective communication with families and team members regarding student progress and needs
- Document and report student progress, and contribute to IEP meetings and annual reviews
- Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom atmosphere
