Special Education Teacher in Providence, RI

Make a significant impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting elementary students with Autism and other developmental disabilities in a nurturing school environment near Providence, RI. Multiple full-time contract positions are available for the 2024-2025 school year, providing a unique opportunity to foster growth and learning in supportive, small classroom settings (8-12 students per class).

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience working with students with Autism or developmental disabilities preferred
• Knowledge of evidence-based instructional strategies, IEP development, and progress monitoring
• Strong collaboration skills to coordinate with therapists, paraprofessionals, and families
• Compassionate approach and dedication to individualized student achievement
• Ability to work onsite for the duration of the school year

Core Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student’s unique needs
• Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction in a classroom setting
• Encourage student independence, communication, and social skills
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
• Maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment
• Communicate effectively with families and multidisciplinary team members
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities
