Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification, applicable for grades 6-12
• Experience teaching students with a range of abilities and needs
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with paras, support staff, and families
• Expertise in IEP development, implementation, and documentation
• Excellent communication, adaptability, and problem-solving skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a self-contained classroom for middle and high school-aged students, fostering an inclusive and engaging atmosphere
• Implement differentiated instructional strategies that address diverse learning styles and academic levels
• Collaborate with paraeducators to ensure both behavioral and educational support for each student
• Monitor, assess, and document student progress toward IEP goals; participate in team meetings to review and revise plans as needed
• Maintain a positive, structured classroom climate that encourages growth, independence, and self-advocacy
• Communicate regularly with families and multidisciplinary team members to support student development
