Step into a rewarding opportunity as an Elementary Special Education Teacher supporting a wonderful group of students near Providence, RI. This contract position is needed ASAP to cover a maternity leave for a minimum of six weeks, with the possibility of extending up to two months. You'll play a vital role in a resource classroom environment, offering personalized support to help each child succeed.
In this role, you'll work a consistent 37.5-hour week, with a daily schedule from 8:25am to 3:10pm (including lunch and prep time). Your focus will be on a manageable caseload—while there are 14 students overall, you'll be working with small groups of 4-5 children at a time, making a powerful impact on each learner's growth and confidence.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Rhode Island Special Education Certification, grades K-6
- Previous experience in elementary special education settings preferred
- Strong understanding of student IEPs and the ability to adapt instruction
- Collaborative mindset and effective communication skills
- Compassion and patience when supporting students with diverse learning needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted instruction in a resource classroom setting
- Manage and implement IEP goals for each student on your caseload
