This contract position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a subseparate classroom environment near Providence, RI, with the support of four dedicated paraprofessionals. The assignment begins immediately and extends through June 15, 2027, providing time to truly connect with your students and help them flourish.
What We’re Looking For:
- Active and valid Special Education Teacher certification (SPED Moderate or Severe)
- Prior experience working with students with developmental delays, especially in subseparate classrooms
- Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
- Creative, resourceful, and patient approach to differentiating instruction
- Genuine passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs
What You’ll Do:
- Teach and support a caseload of 9 students with developmental delays, adapting lessons to meet individualized education plans
- Collaborate daily with four paraprofessionals to ensure each student receives personalized assistance
- Develop and modify curriculum, assess student progress, and document on-going performance
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages growth and celebrates every milestone
- Partner with families, school staff, and related service providers to maximize student outcomes
