Qualifications & Requirements:

• Valid Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) Special Education license for high school.
• Certified or able to obtain Rhode Island Structured Literacy proficiency (Right to Read Act) within one year of hire.
• Previous experience with Emotional Behavioral Disorders (EBD) or severe behavioral challenges strongly preferred.
• Strong communication, patience, and adaptive teaching skills.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of high school students in a self-contained or sub-separate classroom.
• Develop and implement IEPs tailored to individual student needs.
• Employ evidence-based strategies for students with EBD or severe behavioral challenges.
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service staff, and families to maximize student progress.
• Foster a supportive, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
