Qualifications & Requirements:
- Valid Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) Special Education license for high school.
- Certified or able to obtain Rhode Island Structured Literacy proficiency (Right to Read Act) within one year of hire.
- Previous experience with Emotional Behavioral Disorders (EBD) or severe behavioral challenges strongly preferred.
- Strong communication, patience, and adaptive teaching skills.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of high school students in a self-contained or sub-separate classroom.
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to individual student needs.
- Employ evidence-based strategies for students with EBD or severe behavioral challenges.
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service staff, and families to maximize student progress.
- Foster a supportive, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
