Special Education Teacher in Prudenville, MI

A rewarding opportunity awaits for an experienced Special Education Teacher eager to make a positive impact with 3rd to 6th grade students in a supportive, center-based program. This full-time contract role is set for the 2026-2027 school year, running from August 24th to June 11th, with a consistent 35-hour workweek. You'll work closely with a small caseload—approximately 10 students—providing individualized instruction and fostering both academic progress and personal growth.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification (State of Michigan or eligibility)
• Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, ideally with upper elementary students
• Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Comfort with adapting curriculum and delivering differentiated instruction
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with families, related service providers, and other educators
• Ability to foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for a center-based caseload
• Deliver engaging instruction tailored to the unique needs of each student
• Assess student progress and maintain thorough, accurate documentation
• Communicate regularly with parents and team members to share updates and advocate for students
