Special Education Teacher in Putney, VT

Help make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting elementary-aged students with diverse learning needs in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This contract opportunity, running from October 19, 2026 through June 14, 2027, offers a full-time schedule of 35 hours per week. Located close to Putney, VT, this role places you within a supportive team of four teachers and experienced PT/OT staff, creating a positive and inclusive learning space.

This is an excellent chance for those passionate about bridging learning gaps and empowering students with learning disabilities—including reading, writing, math—and some high-functioning Autism Spectrum students in a specialized classroom environment.

Qualifications:

• Active professional Vermont Teaching License with at least one of the following: • Special Educator Endorsement • Special Education Consulting Teacher Endorsement • Intensive Special Education Teacher Endorsement
• Experience or strong interest in supporting elementary-aged children with learning disabilities and Autism spectrum needs
• Ability to work effectively within a team of educators and support staff
• Fingerprinting required (previously approved fingerprints from another recent Vermont school assignment accepted)
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
