As a SPED Resource Teacher, you will help students reach their fullest potential by individualizing instruction and fostering academic, behavioral, and social skills. You’ll collaborate with dedicated staff and families, creating a supportive environment for student success.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification for Washington state (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Previous experience as a Special Education or Resource Teacher strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
- Ability to adapt instructional strategies to accommodate a variety of learning needs
- Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to meet the individual needs of students with disabilities
- Develop, implement, and progress monitor IEPs according to state and federal guidelines
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service staff, and families
- Track student progress and maintain timely, accurate records
- Promote an inclusive classroom environment built on respect and encouragement
