This full-time onsite contract position is suited for experienced special education professionals ready to leverage their skills and foster independence in a welcoming, supportive environment for the 2026-2027 school year.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Washington state Special Education teaching license (SPED) and ESA certificate; must verify credentials.
  • Minimum of five years of special education teaching experience, ideally within school settings.
  • Demonstrated expertise supporting students in transition programs or life skills classes.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to culturally responsive and strengths-based instructional approaches.
  • Experienced in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for older adolescents or young adults.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, individualized instruction to students in a transition classroom focused on life, vocational, and independent living skills.
  • Lead IEP planning, progress monitoring, and coordination with related service providers.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment, supporting student self-advocacy and goal setting.
  • Collaborate closely with families, local resources, and community agencies to ensure holistic transition support.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and participate in school-wide initiatives.
  • Maintain clear records and documentation as required by school and state policies.
