Special Education Teacher | Queensbury, New York

This unique contract opportunity is ideal for a compassionate and flexible Special Education Teacher ready to travel and deliver one-on-one instruction for homebound learners. Sessions range between 1-3 hours, with frequency and weekly hours varying depending on student needs.

As an integral part of each child’s journey, you’ll design and adapt lesson plans that empower students to succeed by receiving personalized attention right in their home environment.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid New York State Special Education (SPED) teaching license is required
• Prior experience working with homebound students highly preferred
• Proven ability to individualize instruction for diverse student needs
• Willingness to travel throughout the Queensbury area to various student homes
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage shifting schedules
• Compassion, patience, and commitment to advocating for exceptional learners

Role Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons to homebound students in a one-on-one setting
• Maintain clear and ongoing communication with families, caregivers, and school personnel
• Adapt teaching methods to best support each student's learning style and goals
• Collect relevant data, monitor student progress, and update records as required
• Demonstrate high standards of professionalism, privacy, and ethical practice
