This travel assignment, beginning ASAP through June 2027, places you in a specialized private school serving K-12 students in a self-contained, low-ratio classroom environment. You’ll benefit from a thorough two-week onboarding period, supporting your successful transition.

Qualifications:

  • Valid New York State Special Education license (Students with Disabilities) or eligibility for NY licensure (recent grads and out-of-state applicants encouraged to apply)
  • Preferred: Experience with level 3 autism, managing severe behaviors, or working with students who use alternative communication strategies/medical supports
  • Familiarity with alternative assessments and modifying curriculum highly desirable

Responsibilities:

  • Provide instruction to students in 8:1:3 classrooms with severe cognitive or behavioral needs
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, therapists, and paraprofessionals
  • Develop and implement IEPs, alternative assessments, and individualized instructional plans
  • Participate in required training, onboarding, and professional development
  • Manage classroom environment and adapt resources for diverse learning needs
