Special Education Teacher in Quitman, LA

What You’ll Need:

• Valid Special Education Teaching certification
• Experience teaching students with special needs, preferably within self-contained or ASD-focused classrooms
• Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students across various grade levels (K-12)
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment

What You’ll Do:

• Instruct and support a self-contained group of students, focusing primarily on those with ASD
• Develop, implement, and track Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs
• Collaborate with support staff and related service providers for holistic student care
• Monitor student progress, document outcomes, and communicate effectively with families
• Foster a positive classroom community where every student is valued and encouraged to reach their potential

You’ll Work:

• Contract position, 35 hours per week
• January start date for the remainder of the school year
