In this collaborative role, you’ll work alongside two dedicated teachers and a supportive team of paraprofessionals, guiding a group of approximately 25 young adults through a variety of hands-on, real-world learning experiences.
This opportunity is based in a welcoming community setting designed to foster growth, independence, and skill-building. Students attend Monday through Thursday, with Fridays dedicated to teacher planning and preparation, allowing you the space to reflect and refine your instructional approach. This contract position follows a predictable schedule—Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, including a 30-minute lunch break, for a total of 37.5 hours each week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teaching and support staff to design and implement individualized and group instruction focused on vocational, daily living, and communication skills.
- Supervise and mentor students as they perform job tasks both within the community building and in small groups at various off-site locations.
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture where every student can thrive and build confidence navigating everyday tasks.
- Document student growth and participate in IEP development and review, working closely with families and related service providers.
- Participate in team meetings, contributing your expertise to help optimize program outcomes.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification.
