Special Education Teacher - Rainbow City, AL

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in a dynamic educational setting near Rainbow City, AL. Two positions are available for passionate Special Education Teachers eager to make a lasting difference: one working with K-3rd grade students in a resource setting, and another in a self-contained classroom providing focused instruction to a smaller group.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field
• Current state Special Education Teacher certification (or eligible for certification)
• Experience working with students with varying disabilities and learning needs
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with teachers, staff, and families
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment
• Ability to modify and adapt curriculum to meet individual goals

Roles & Responsibilities:

Resource Teacher (K-3rd):

• Support approximately 30 students across grades K-3
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Provide targeted small group and one-on-one instruction
• Collaborate with general educators to differentiate lessons and classroom strategies

Self-Contained Teacher:

• Lead a self-contained classroom with around 15 students
• Create a structured, nurturing environment with clear routines
• Design and deliver individualized instruction across multiple subject areas
• Work closely with paraprofessionals to support student needs
