Middle School Licensed Special Education Teacher - Raleigh, NC

Make a meaningful impact as a licensed Special Education Teacher serving middle school students in a vibrant educational community near Raleigh, NC. This contract role is crafted for a skilled EC Teacher with a passion for middle grades, and begins April 1st through June 5th. You'll work directly with 2-3 ECS students, delivering instruction in Resource ELA and Math, supported by a dedicated full-time ECTA who knows the students well. The resource class emphasizes both academic and occupational skills, providing a well-rounded learning experience.

Key qualifications:

• Valid licensure in Special Education and experience as an EC Teacher
• Strong background teaching middle school grades, especially in resource settings
• Demonstrated expertise in developing and executing robust IEPs
• Ability to effectively teach Resource ELA and Math for small groups
• Skilled at quickly establishing rapport and adapting instruction to individual student needs
• Ready to start promptly and excel in a dynamic environment

Responsibilities include:

• Designing and implementing impactful lessons focused on academic and occupational skills
• Managing a caseload of 2-3 ECS students with support from a knowledgeable ECTA
• Collaborating with staff, families, and support personnel to drive student success
• Creating, updating, and monitoring IEPs to ensure all service delivery and educational goals are met
• Participating actively in team meetings and fostering a positive classroom culture
