Step into a meaningful role supporting students as a Special Education Teacher for middle grades during the 25/26 school year. This contract opportunity is designed for an experienced EC teacher who brings a strong background in guiding students through academic and occupational skills, particularly in Resource ELA and Math classes.

Your expertise will be essential as you work closely with a small group of 2-3 exceptional children (ECS students), who are already supported full-time by an ECTA that knows them well. The educational environment is dynamic and rewarding, with collaboration at its core. You'll contribute not only as an instructor, but also as an invaluable advocate for each student's learning journey.

Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current Special Education teaching license, with middle grades experience required
  • Demonstrated proficiency in designing and implementing effective IEPs
  • Confidence teaching in resource settings, focusing on academic and occupational skills
  • Previous experience supporting ECS students and collaborating with educational assistants
  • Ability to establish rapport quickly and adapt to an active school environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging Resource ELA and Math instruction tailored for 2-3 ECS students within academic and occupational skills classes
  • Write and maintain high-quality, individualized IEPs reflecting each student’s needs and goals
  • Collaborate with a dedicated ECTA and other educational professionals to support student growth and success
  • Seamlessly step into the role, ready to begin on April 1st and support students through June 5th
