This position offers a manageable caseload of fewer than 10 students and a focus on early childhood special education. Professional development days are scheduled from August 13th to August 17th, with students arriving on August 18th.
Qualifications:
- Valid LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist 1) certification with Early Childhood certification
- Special Education teaching experience in schools, preferably with K-8 neurodiverse children
- Deep understanding of individualized instruction and IEP implementation
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Collaborative approach to working with colleagues, families, and support staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction to meet diverse learning needs within an inclusive classroom setting
- Develop, monitor, and report on IEP goals for a caseload of fewer than 10 students
- Foster a nurturing and positive classroom environment where all students can thrive
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
- Communicate progress and challenges to families with empathy and professionalism
- Participate in professional development days prior to the start of the school year
This contracted position will have you working 40 hours per week with your primary commitment focused on ensuring the academic and social-emotional success of each child on your caseload.
