Make a meaningful impact in the lives of neurodiverse K-8th grade students in a supportive school environment. This contract opportunity offers two openings for dedicated Special Education Teachers: one with standard LBS1 certification and one with Early Childhood certification. You'll find a manageable caseload (less than 10 students) and the chance to participate in engaging Professional Development before the school year kicks off.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized instruction, accommodations, and support to K-8th grade students
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to students’ unique strengths and needs
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, parents, and specialists
- Use research-based strategies to promote academic, social, and emotional growth
- Track student progress and communicate effectively with families and team members
- Foster a nurturing, inclusive classroom atmosphere that celebrates neurodiversity
- Participate in professional development sessions from 8/13-8/17; students begin classes on 8/18
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid LBS1 teaching license (required for one opening)
- Valid Early Childhood Special Education certification (required for other opening)
- Experience working with neurodiverse and special needs students in grades K-8
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt lessons and materials to meet students’ diverse learning needs
- Passion for creating a positive, supportive environment for all students
