Key Qualifications:
- Current Texas Special Education Teacher certification (SPED license/certification) required
- Must hold certification in secondary math
- Experience working with high school-aged students preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement individualized instructional strategies for students with diverse needs within the high school setting
- Develop lesson plans targeting both special education requirements and secondary math curriculum
- Work closely with students to assess progress, adapting approaches as needed to foster understanding and success
- Coordinate with support staff, counselors, and families to ensure comprehensive student support
- Monitor and document student achievement and behavior, maintaining compliance with applicable IEP goals and state standards
