Special Education Teacher in Redford, MI

In this full-time, contract opportunity near Redford, MI, you’ll make a lasting impact on K–2 students in an onsite setting from August 31, 2026, through June 24, 2027.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education License with endorsement in Cognitive Impairment (CI) or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• Certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), or willingness to obtain and maintain CPI certification annually
• Experience or strong interest in working with children in grades K–2 within a school setting
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Adept at tailoring individualized instruction to meet diverse learning needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and specialized support to K–2 students with cognitive impairments
• Develop, implement, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families
• Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment to encourage student growth and engagement
• Regularly assess student progress and adapt strategies for optimal outcomes
• Utilize CPI techniques to promote safety and positive behaviors
• Work closely with administrators, related service providers, and classroom teachers to achieve best practices in special education
