A full-time position is available for a Certified Elementary Cognitively Impaired (CI) Teacher to serve students in grades K–2. This role requires teaching students with special education needs onsite in a school setting located in Redford, MI. The assignment is travel-based with dates for the 2026/2027 school year to be determined.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students with cognitive impairments or autism spectrum disorder
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with state guidelines
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support student success
- Manage classroom environments and ensure safety and appropriate behavior interventions
- Maintain regular documentation and progress reports on student development
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching license with a CI or ASD endorsement
- Certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), or willingness to obtain and maintain CPI certification annually
- Experience working with elementary-aged students (K–2) with special needs preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
