This onsite opportunity involves working full-time, 37.5 hours per week, throughout the 2026-2027 academic year. You’ll support students as they develop life and vocational skills, empowering them for greater independence in their next phase of life.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid WA Special Education (SPED) teaching license
- ESA (Educational Staff Associate) certificate required, with verification provided upon application
- Minimum of 5 years of direct experience as a Special Education Teacher in school settings
- Solid background in transition services for older students with special needs
- Demonstrated ability to adapt instruction for diverse learning profiles
- Strong collaboration skills with teams and families
- Commitment to professional excellence and cultural responsiveness
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction and individualized support to students in a transition program (ages 18–22)
- Design and implement IEPs with a focus on functional academics, social skills, job readiness, and community integration
- Monitor student progress, maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Collaborate closely with related service providers, paraprofessionals, and families
- Participate in all required meetings, professional development, and compliance activities
- Adhere to district, state, and federal guidelines for special education programs
