This full-time opportunity, based onsite near Renton, WA, focuses on a transition classroom serving students ages 18-22 and is ideal for an experienced specialist seeking a meaningful role in a vibrant school setting.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Washington State Special Education Teacher license and ESA certificate (must be verifiable upon application)
• Minimum of five years’ experience as a Special Education Teacher, specifically with transition-age (18-22) students
• Strong background in supporting transition programs and navigating the unique needs of young adults preparing for life beyond school
• Previous experience working in a school setting
• Thorough understanding of curriculum development, vocational training, and community integration for special education students
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead instruction and programming for a transition classroom, providing individualized supports for students ages 18-22
• Develop and implement transition plans, focusing on post-secondary goals including employment, independent living, and further education
• Collaborate with families, staff, and community agencies to support students’ goals
• Document progress and ensure compliance with IEPs and district/state requirements
• Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
