Key Qualifications:

• Active Texas Special Education Teaching License is required
• Experience working as a Special Education Teacher, preferably at the high school level
• Understanding of Life Skills classroom models and the unique needs of students in these programs
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Effective communication and collaboration skills when working with students, families, and team members

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and adaptive instruction for high school students in a Life Skills classroom
• Develop and implement IEPs, adapting curriculum to meet diverse student needs and learning styles
• Foster a supportive, structured classroom environment that encourages growth, independence, and social development
• Monitor student progress, assess learning outcomes, and maintain accurate documentation
• Communicate regularly with parents, support staff, and other educators to ensure student success
• Participate in ongoing professional development and team meetings
