Special Education Teacher in Ridgefield, CT

Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming 2026/2027 school year! Two full-time positions are available for dedicated professionals who are passionate about helping high schoolers succeed. These roles run from August 24, 2026 through June 24, 2027, taking place during regular school hours: 7:30 am to 2:40 pm.

In this position, you’ll work with high school students in both resource and co-teaching environments, giving you the opportunity to collaborate with general education teachers and meet diverse learners’ needs. Your experience and enthusiasm will foster a positive, inclusive environment where every student can grow and excel.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience (or strong interest) working in high school settings
• Familiarity with resource room models and co-teaching practices
• Solid understanding of IEP development and progress monitoring
• Ability to engage, motivate, and advocate for students with varied needs
• Positive communication skills for collaborating with staff, students, and families
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and small group instruction to high school students
• Co-teach alongside general education instructors in mainstream settings
• Collaborate on development, implementation, and regular review of IEPs
• Track and report student progress through data and observation
• Communicate effectively with families and educational staff
• Participate in school meetings and ongoing professional development
