Special Education Teacher - Ridgefield, CT

Exciting opportunities are available for skilled Special Education Teachers to make a meaningful difference during the 2026-2027 school year. There are four full-time positions open, with assignments in both high school and middle school settings. The contract runs from August 24, 2026, through June 24, 2027, with working hours from 7:30 am to 2:40 pm. These roles include High School Resource and Co-Teaching, as well as a Middle School position and a leave coverage position at the middle school level through December.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience working with students in high school and/or middle school resource or co-teaching environments
• Strong classroom management and collaboration skills
• Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse learner needs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to support students’ unique learning needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers for effective co-teaching and support
• Provide targeted instruction to high school or middle school students, addressing academic and behavioral goals
• Maintain accurate documentation and records of student progress and interventions
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that inspires student growth and confidence
• Communicate regularly with families and educational team members to track and support student success
