Special Education Teacher in Ridgeland, SC

There are three contract positions available, each offering meaningful work in a supportive educational setting near Ridgeland, SC. The assignments are full-time onsite, spanning 37.5 hours per week, and begin August 3, 2026, through May 28, 2027.

Positions are available at three distinct school environments:

• Shanklin Elementary (Intensive Support): Focused on students requiring the highest level of support and adaptation.
• Beaufort High (Resource): Centered on providing supplemental instruction for students who benefit from additional resources.
• Hilton Head Island Middle (Resource): Emphasizing targeted intervention within a middle school setting.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Prior experience in a school-based special education setting strongly preferred
• Proven ability to develop and adapt IEPs
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills
• Collaborative approach and commitment to inclusive education
• Flexibility to adapt to changing student needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging instruction tailored to diverse learning styles and abilities
• Fulfill all required documentation—IEPs, progress reports, and assessments—in a timely manner
• Collaborate with families, general education staff, and support professionals
• Foster a safe, nurturing, and productive classroom environment
• Attend IEP meetings and school-based team sessions
• Employ classroom management strategies to promote positive behavior and learning
