Special Education Teacher in Ridgeland, SC

Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting students in a dynamic middle school setting near Ridgeland, SC. This contract opportunity is designed for educators passionate about inclusion and dedicated to empowering students with diverse learning needs.

In this role, you’ll serve as a Push-In Resource Teacher and collaborate with general education staff in at least two core subject areas. You'll manage a caseload of 15-20 students, creating and implementing individualized strategies to foster academic and social growth. With a weekly schedule of 37.5 hours on-site, you’ll be able to fully immerse yourself in a supportive school environment.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teaching certification
• Previous experience teaching in a middle school or similar environment
• Knowledge of IEP processes and compliance
• Strong classroom management and co-teaching skills
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organization abilities
• Flexibility to adapt instructional approaches to meet individual student needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted, standards-based instruction within general education classrooms
• Co-teach in a minimum of two content areas, working closely with subject teachers
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs for assigned students
• Maintain positive, productive relationships with staff, students, and families
• Track student progress and document interventions
• Foster an inclusive, supportive environment that values each learner
