Special Education Teacher in Ridgeway, VA

Exciting opportunities are available for two dedicated Special Education Teachers interested in making a real impact in students’ lives. These full-time, onsite contract positions focus on delivering high-quality support and instruction to elementary and middle school learners in a dynamic school environment near Ridgeway, VA.

Current openings include:

• One position working with K-7th grade students, managing a caseload of 17 students.
• Another role supporting 4th-7th grade students, overseeing a 16 student caseload.

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teaching certification (state-appropriate credentials required)
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field
• Experience working with diverse learning needs and individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Ability to adapt lessons and strategies to accommodate varying learning levels
• Previous classroom experience, preferably in a school setting

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and track progress on IEPs
• Provide direct instruction tailored to students with varying abilities
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and families
• Participate in IEP meetings, team conferences, and staff development
• Maintain accurate records and documentation
