Special Education Teacher - Rifle, Colorado

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students with special needs in a vibrant educational environment near Rifle, CO. This full-time role is available for the 2026–2027 school year, with positions serving either middle school (grades 6–8) or high school (grades 9–12) students who present with mild to moderate needs. Provide meaningful instruction and guidance to a close-knit caseload of approximately 25–30 students as part of a dedicated team of professionals.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active Colorado Teaching License required
• Current SPED (Special Education) Endorsement
• Experience with or enthusiasm for supporting students with mild to moderate exceptionalities
• Ability to assist students with toileting needs as needed
• Genuine commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with families, colleagues, and support staff

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and small-group instruction tailored to IEP goals and student strengths
• Adapt curriculum content and teaching approaches to accommodate unique learning styles
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and administrators for student support
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports on student performance and objectives
• Foster a classroom atmosphere that encourages student engagement, self-advocacy, and positive behavior
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student successes and areas for growth
