Make an impact by supporting early learners in a dedicated Special Education Pre-K setting. This contract position is full-time and follows the academic year calendar, offering a rewarding opportunity for passionate special education professionals. You’ll work with students ages 3–5 who have varying levels of need, many of whom are non-verbal or have limited verbal skills and require assistance with behaviors, toileting/diapering, and feeding.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid GaPSC Teaching Certificate with both Special and General Education Endorsements for Pre-K.
- Previous experience in special education roles, especially with students ages 3–5, is highly desirable.
- Comfort with supporting children in the midst of toilet training and feeding.
- Demonstrated skills working with non-verbal/low-verbal students.
- Ability to work collaboratively with paraprofessionals, therapists, and support staff.
- Strong communication and organizational abilities.
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction, adapting strategies to address cognitive, emotional, and behavioral needs.
- Collaborate closely with early childhood education teams, paraprofessionals, and other service providers.
- Assist with daily routines including diapering, toileting, and feeding as needed.
- Implement and monitor behavior intervention plans.
- Maintain detailed documentation and progress notes in compliance with IEPs.
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment to encourage growth and discovery.
This role runs from August 4, 2026, through May 21, 2027, offering the chance to make a significant impact during the most formative years of a child’s development.
