Special Education Teacher in Ringgold, GA

In this position, you will join a collaborative team, including two paraprofessionals and a Registered Behavior Technician, guiding a lower functioning, self-contained class focused on a functional curriculum. This well-supported environment is designed to empower students and educators alike.

Role Details:

• Contract duration: August 4, 2026 – May 26, 2027, with possible pre/post planning days and a strong chance for renewal based on performance
• Schedule: Full-time (37.5–40 hours per week)
• Functional, self-contained classroom with robust team support

Qualifications Sought:

• Active GaPSC Special Education certification with credentials in SPED content through 8th grade
• Adapted Curriculum Endorsement required; candidates with pending credentials may also be considered
• Experience working with lower functioning or self-contained special education populations strongly preferred
• Commitment to creating a supportive, inclusive learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement an adapted, functional curriculum to meet students’ individual learning goals
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals and behavior specialists to foster an effective classroom environment
• Evaluate and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
• Engage in communication with parents, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members to support student success
